Epic Back Doors

The weather has been so beautiful lately! This time of year there's nothing better than opening up your doors and windows to bring a little of the outdoors in. Check out these incredible back doors that blur the boundaries that separate the outside from the inside.

Swing Doors

These aren't just any swinging doors! They are taller, wider, and more translucent than ever. They don't even have to be open to make you feel like your sitting outdoors.

Fancy Swing Doors

Check out these bold doors that, though they might technically swing open, are so much more than a "swing door".  Often times these doors pivot from a central point located on the ceiling/floor rather than the side walls.

Sliding Doors

Thinking about these sure reminds me of that Hank Williams song "move it on over, slide it on over."

Garage Doors

Garage doors: so much better when not used in a garage!

Nana Walls

Forget a back door, how about the whole wall just opens up?! Yes, please!

Industry Ed with Richard: Quick Tips Series

Here are a few quick tips that can be helpful when implementing small updates to your home or doing a complete overhaul. I will be providing insight on solutions and practices based on my industry experience.

The Galley Sink

The Galley Sink is completely changing how a kitchen functions. The galley sink is a long, industrial-like sink, that can get up to 7 feet in length, and has many sliding boards and compartments that serve multiple functions so that you can get most of your food preparation and cooking done while standing in one place.

What makes this sink so cool?

  • All of your food preparation as well as your clean-up can be done in this one sink.
  • It minimizes the need of additional counter space.
  • It functions best when placed at the island; this allows you to work in the kitchen while still being able to socialize.
  • It comes in multiple lengths, from 3' to 7', whichever best fits your kitchen size and needs. Its recommended that you use a 4' or above for optimal use.
  • It is also recommended that a cook top be installed next to it to keep your cooking and prep all in the same place.
  • To find out more, check out the galley sink website.

Trend Alert: Decorative Slab Backsplash with Intricate Edges

Lately we've been seeing a trend of subtle slab backsplashes with intricate edge styles.  These backsplashes work well with wall-mounted fixtures but can be used in a variety of applications.  Notice how they are all almost solid or light-patterned stones.  Using a heavy patterned stone for this application may not have the same effect.

Here are our designer's picks:
